History
The Labrador Retriever Club of the Twin Cities (LRCTC) was founded in October 1984 by nine people who shared an interest in and a love of Labrador retrievers. The main goal of the club was to promote quality breeding of purebred Labrador retrievers and to protect and advance the breed as a "dual purpose" dog. The club now has about one hundred members. Members are involved in all aspects of owning, training, and breeding labradors. They continue to to actively support the "multipurpose" lab. The clubs members interests include showing their dogs in the conformation ring, field trials and hunt tests, obedience, tracking, search and rescue, agility and flyball, therapy dogs, and donating dogs to service groups. Most of all they enjoy and love them as hunting and home companions.
